​Dorothy Elizabeth Martz Burton

 

Aged 97, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Brooksville, FL.

Born on December 13,1927, Dorothy, affectionately known as Dot, was a beacon of grace, kindness, and quiet strength throughout her life.

 

Dot is survived by her daughter, Mary Lynn Miller, and son, Jeffrey A. Burton. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Burton, and her son, Lawrence A. Burton.

Dorothy was a passionate and skilled seamstress who also enjoyed golf and swimming. Her dedication to the Order of the Eastern Star was profound, where she served as the Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania and as an officer of the Brooksville Chapter No. 76. Her commitment spanned over 63. years, marking a significant contribution to the organization and its community activities.

 

In lieu of a memorial service, those wishing to honor Dorothy's memory may make
contributions to the Shriners Hospital, an organization she deeply cared about.

 

Her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire those who knew her.
