Sylvia “Sam” Frontera, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Downers Grove, Illinois. Born on January 27, 1940 in Chicago, Sylvia brought joy, warmth, and laughter to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sylvia lived life to the fullest. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and created countless cherished memories on family trips, especially to Disney World. She was a social spirit who never met a stranger—always quick with a smile, a kind word, and a listening ear. Her generous heart and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Grace (Joe) Pastor and Cynthia DePietro; her loving siblings, Laura Ranalli, Frank Hines (Angela Fletcher), and Mobey (Patti) Hines; her adored grandchildren, Dominic (Sarah) Pastor, Selena (Kevin) Smith, and Jacob Hagopian; as well as her great-grandpups Beauty and Beast. She is also remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Sylvia’s life was one of connection, love, and laughter, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
